More summer and alumni news.

Fourth of July – Independence Day… the celebration of freedom. For me it also means that my Summer Intensive in New York is a week away. July 10th to July 22nd, 2012. Writers from Turkey, Brazil, Switzerland, two from Australia and Long Island, NY. The level is high. Most of them experienced writers, the young woman from Istanbul has a very popular film out currently in Turkey. It is also comforting to know that my film “Captain of Paradise,” is in a good place to continue humming along in pre-production for the next two weeks without my daily attention.

One piece of alumni news is from:

Gotzon Aurrekoetxea – from Bilbao, Spain is one of the organizers of the new FILM NOIR FESTIVAL in Bilbao – mikrofilmfestival Pass on the info. I’d like to support his effort. Any door open to filmmakers is a worthwhile endeavor.

Happy 4th to all my fellow Americans wherever you are in the world…and happy freedom to everybody else.
